Sometimes, when you Call the Wild, It Answers BIG

Tuesday, after the Cook-out, we went out in the dark at 9.30 to look for stars. Curiously, despite completely clear skies at 7.30, two hours later we were under continuous cloud. Dang...

But there I was, with about 15 or 20 people of various ages (all the way down to the 7 and 8 year olds!), so we decided to just see...read on

SANTA'S VILLAGE THEME PARK
Santa's Village, in Bracebridge is about one hour away from Bondi. Open in the summer season, this little theme park is fantastic for kids up to the middle teens. It is not too big, nor too expensive and you can do most of it in a day without getting tired. It is well treed so you don't get baked by the sun. They have Eagle Crest Aerial Park, on site. You can climb and zip line through the tall pine trees! Good for any age but you must like heights!! For the older kids it has the best go cart track I have found in any theme park. BETTER THAN DISNEY (and I tried them both!) There are also batting cages and sports stuff like that. A great way to spend a day with the kids, the aerial park is open in winter too.

Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland
Winter transforms Bondi into a fairyland. This picture, taken in early winter, just before the Lake of Bays froze over, shows the view from the office - the boats are gone from the main dock and we are busy preparing our cross country ski trails in anticipation of winter’s fun! Snowmobile trails link to our property, and sometimes we can skate on the lake. Our toboggan hill provides lots of thrills too - or you can just relax inside by the fireplace, enjoying the view from your cottage window!
BONDI Beachfront
BONDI Beachfront
Bondi Village Cottage Resort has over 400 metres (1200’) of shallow sandy beach, facing Southwest on the Lake of Bays, for uncrowded fun! In summer, the main dock is always the focal point! There’s lots to do - from swimming, waterskiing, water trampoline, sailing and canoeing to just lounging in the sunshine! New in 2007 is a 9 hole Disc Golf course, an area first! We have a wide variety of boats available, from paddleboats and canoes right up to ski-boats - and instruction is included for novices! - to help you enjoy Muskoka’s beautiful lakes! Visit our Boat Rental page for rates & details.
Canoes and Fall Colours
Canoes and Fall Colours
What could be more beautiful than Muskoka Ontario in autumn? Quiet, uncrowded water waiting for you to slip your canoe into the morning mists - this is a balm for the soul! Wildlife and bird watchers find lots to see at Bondi Village - and photographers are in their element! Autumn is a magical time to enjoy the hiking/ski trails, or to visit Algonquin Park, just ten minutes away!

About Us

There is much to do at Bondi Village Cottage Resort and in the surrounding area of Muskoka and nearby Haliburton Highlands. We are located just minutes from the village of Dwight, in Muskoka and offer a friendly, informal atmosphere suitable for families and couples in a natural environment.

Our family has been here since 1905, and we are the third generation to own and operate Bondi Village. From our beginnings as a pioneer farm, Bondi has gradually transformed into one of Muskoka's premier housekeeping cottage resorts, with many unique features preserving our heritage.

With over 240 hectares (600 acres) of wilderness woodlands surrounding the resort, just ten minutes from Algonquin Park, we feature over 400 metres (1200’) of waterfront and beach; boat rentals; summer hiking trails winding through fields and woods; 20 km. of groomed cross country ski trails in winter; access to nearby snowmobile trails for sledders, and a toboggan hill for the young at heart.

Fall colours are spectacular - a walk through our working maple sugar bush rewards the hiker or birdwatcher with unparalleled photo opportunities. The sugar bush is also popular in spring, when the sap is running! During the summer, our large garden provides fresh produce for our cottagers, too!

Our cottages are widely spaced for privacy and to preserve that “uncrowded” feeling. All are modern, with electric heat, and fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens and three or four piece bathrooms. We are open year round!

Please have a look through our website and if you have any questions, give us a call at 1 705 635 2261 or email us!
