ICE FISHING

Stay with us, in our large comfortable cottages and use a fish-hut at Dwight Beach, five minutes away. Dwight is where two rivers join, so that's where the fish like to hang. Our cousin is providing this ice-hut service -- we can help you book your hut with him while staying here with us.  On our own bay, you can fish in the open air, or rent our pop-up ice-shelter.  For those in your party who prefer not to fish, we've got ski/snowshoe trails, toboggan hills, skating, fireplaces and a great place to get ready to cook the fish you bring home. Call for details.

Lake of Bays is a clear, cold body of water. It’s deepest part is 230 feet. Fish species that inhabit the lake are lake trout, smallmouth bass, whitefish, lake herring, rainbow smelt as well as many minnow species. Historically there have been some big trout caught – 20 lbs and over. Ice fishing deep with Williams spoons and big tube jigs in winter is a good bet.

 SNOWMOBILING

Riding the RAPRound Algonquin Park -- it is the most popular snowmobile loop trail in the Province. Stay with us - we are just minutes off the main trail, for a quiet night. Discounts for 2 or 3 night stays. You can start from here, and leave your vehicles parked with us while you make the loop around. Take advantage of the other great trails of the Algonquin Snowmobile Club right here in our area. Single nights are available Mid-Week only. All our cottages are equipped for housekeeping -- we are close to several restaurants right on the snowmobile trails, and -- if you'd rather just spend a lazy morning before heading out, we offer the option of a Breakfast Basket so you can start the day at your own pace with bacon, toast, eggs from our free-range hens... Call us for details.

ALGONQUIN SNOWMOBILE CLUB  The very first organized trail building club in the province, ASC gets better every year. We pioneered the slogan, "Think SNOW! Help Stamp Out Summer."  The ASC trails link to everything else in Muskoka, providing an extensive network of places to ride.

RENTALS are available at Dwight, from both Haliburton Snowmobile Rentals or Back Country. Both will deliver to the resort and set you up with everything you need to ride the trails.  Back Country also offers a guided tour option, for those new to the sport, or who would just like to try it out for an afternoon.

FUEL  we have fuel available for our Registered Guests.

PARKING our extensive parking areas provide lots of room for trucks and trailers, and you can park your sleds right by the cottage door.
